I'm so excited that this train has finally left the station, and I swear we have the most fabulous team ever invented. We are going to crush Reality with our magical powers!

Prompts go out next Monday, July 14th, and I have a bunch of (hopefully fun) things to keep us occupied until then. I'm going to be spamming you with polls and posts over the next few days, but for now, I just wanted to say HELLO! WELCOME! HOORAY! *more pom-poms*

1. How long have you been in the DS6D fandom? As a reader, about 18 months, as a podficcer, a year (I think), but I didn't start writing until last september.

2. What's one thing you really like about your own writing? okay, i MADE this question, and i'm having a hard time answering it. UMMM. i like the rhythm of my own writing, the way it SOUNDS in my head. which, as a podficcer, makes sense i think?

1. How long have you been in the DS6D fandom? Um. Two years? And a bit? I think I started reading when I started rewatching in April 2006 and wrote my first fic in June. But it was a sloooooow start.

2. What's one thing you really like about your own writing? Look. I'm British. I can't blow my own trumpet, my cheeks will fall off. OK. So. Maybe my humour? I DON'T KNOW, THIS IS HARD. *cries*

4. Why did you choose Team Whimsy? Have you met me? Please see banner. I love fairy tales, magical realism, and all that kind of stuff and I adore putting the boys into off-kilter situations. It pleases me.

5. Please rec us one of your favorite "whimsical" stories? Ah. No? Unless you want something in another fandom entirely. No. Wait! There's Fledgling by llassah which is incredible wing!fic. I love it so hard. It's Ray/Ray. My boys! Also When Night Falls On The City by lordessrenegade - FKV and zombies. Win.

6. What's one fun/goofy/random thing you'd like us all to know about you? I spend FAR too much time doodling cartoons of Fraser and the Rays getting up to shenanigans. Especially in staff meetings.

Well out it this way I have written much fic with Ray as a dragon, I've plenty of AU series, and then there's the spirit beaver thing...put simply I love to write whimsy. I enjoy reading whimsy. Yay whimsy.

Oooo I'm going to have to go witha really old fic Siren Song by Manna (http://www.squidge.org/dsa/archive/drama/sirensong.html) because Fraser as a mermaid! And Deif as a seal! And Ray Vecchio vacationing in Canada. It's very sweet.

I can wiggle my ears. It took me many years to perfect this.

Ya know, as a backup, I'm kinda torn between this stage of: "Gee, I hope someone has to drop out so I can step up and try to contribute past cheerleading," and "ZOMG, please don't let anyone drop out, all these names are incredible!!!" and then kinda falling into a puddle of fangirl goo at the sight of this incredible team.

1. How long have you been in the DS6D fandom? Since S3 was still airring on US TV, though I didn't get into the DS fandom on-line at that time because it was right in the middle of the Ray Wars and I got chased off. But I came back about a year or two after that and never really left.

2. What's one thing you really like about your own writing? I am absurdly proud of my dialogue, I will admit. I may not be able to spell the words, but I can have what 'em peoples call "abilitiz ta hav 'em speek'n gud". ::G:: ::winks::

4. Why did you choose Team Whimsy? Because this show has crack as cannon? How can you not? I love these boys so much, and how is it Ray does not have Wings in the episodes themselves? And why didn't Fraser just admit he was an elf in episode One and lay all the inappropriate speculation to rest?

5. Please rec us one of your favorite "whimsical" stories? Uh...can I edit this one after I've had a few hours of sleep? I set my alarm so I could try to join this (glad I did! Four minutes to fill up both teams, my god! Woot!) and so all I'm getting is "....uuuh...fic good?"

6. What's one fun/goofy/random thing you'd like us all to know about you? Well, I'm pagan (youngest priestess in the state of Washington), we're the religion that bases our cannon out of the crack other religions throw out? ::big grin:: Here we write about Fraser being an elf, in my home life, I really do know and elf named Fraser? ::winks:: (Well, okay, not really, but he could be named Fraser....he has a hat!)

Z! How very, very excited am I? WITHOUT TEXTUAL RENDERING (or, y'know, even the regular plaster kind of wall rendering. My EEE of triumph at the sign ups made well have done structural damage to my house, I'm just sayin')

1. How long have you been in the DS6D fandom?
Oh, cripes. Well, I lurked like an extremely accomplished lurking thing from the beginning of 2005, but didn't actually pop my writing cherry until the summer of 2006, when I jumped feet first into getfraserlaid. Low pressure writing. I've... heard of that.

2. What's one thing you really like about your own writing?
What catwalksalone said, omg. Um, although I guess I sort of like my use of language sometimes. And the odd POVs I seem to find (Turtles are entirely valid narrators, I'll have you know).

3. Please give us a link to your stories?
They're floating around in assorted places (and I keep on finding myself when I accidentally end up on del.ici.ous because of something else and it's really kind of weird to me), but the pretty-much-complete list of my dS stuff is here (http://etcetera-cat.tripod.com/id57.html). Z's recent birthday fic (involving turtles) will be up there as soon as I stop pouting about the prospect of html coding.

4. Why did you choose Team Whimsy?
Because reality doesn't let turtles or wolves narrate and we therefore do not have a good working relationship. Also, magic and fantasy and sparkly improbability make me happy and are significant themes in all of the fandoms that I've stuck around in for any length of time. Also, taking part in ds_match last year was So. Much. Fun. and I got interact with some truly awesome people.

5. Please rec us one of your favorite "whimsical" stories?
Oh, lordy, there's lots! Sperenza's About a Dog, Nos's Wings of Desire (even if she is on That Other Team), pretty much every entry in ds_flashfiction's Superpowers Challenge... I could go on for a long, long while.

No matter how outlandish an account of my working day my LJ contains, the truth will always be stranger.

I love it. How could I not?!

1. How long have you been in the DS6D fandom? Let's see....I posted The Minute After in draft on March 6, and I'd probably been watching for a couple of weeks before that, so let's say, almost five months.

2. What's one thing you really like about your own writing? I'm very fast at it? It keeps me off the streets? Dunno.

1. How long have you been in the DS6D fandom? As a writer and active fan, maybe a year and half? But I've read and loved the stories for years. I've been an active Jossverse writer for four years.

2. What's one thing you really like about your own writing? Well, I like to just thonk the reader into the middle of the story whenever I can, trying for clarity of setting and any new characters with an economy of words. Learned the skipping-dry-stuff trick from eliade's stories and DVD commentary tracks. If it works, the credit goes to her.

2. What's one thing you really like about your own writing? Hmmm. I think I do okay with the voices.

malnpudl suckered me into reading fic in early 2006, and I started writing in May 2006 (after she viciously sent me DVDs to watch--she deserves to be punished, especially since it looks like she's on Team Reality).

2. What's one thing you really like about your own writing?

I think I do a pretty good job of plotting out a story.

I can't find the link, but there are (were?) three stories about Ray K's evil glasses -- the ones that allowed him to see evil of the Lovecraftian variety. Can't remember the author, but I do remember the sense of creeping horror.

5. Please rec us one of your favorite "whimsical" stories? The Turtle fic that etcetera_cat just wrote, and lamentables' penguin pilgrimage fic are my all-time favorites. But also Mountie on Board (http://community.livejournal.com/ds_flashfiction/87342.html) and pretty much any Turtle-Dief or Turtle/Dief ficlet out there. And I would also add Punk's Gun, With Occasional Kangaroo because I personally find kangaroos to be quite whimsical. :D
